HOW TO EAT VEGAN AT A MEXICAN RESTAURANT

Eating vegan at a Mexican restaurant like the Rio can be easy. You just need to know what and how to order!

DOES THE RIO HAVE A VEGAN MENU?

Our vegan menu includes plant-based twists on classic Rio favorites, including appetizers, entrees, salads, and sides. Start your meal off with our famous chips, salsa and guacamole (hold the cotija cheese). Then follow up with our delicious veggie fajitas (no sour cream, please!) or our house salad with portabella mushroom and balsamic or champagne vinaigrette (86 the cotija cheese).

We even have options for you burrito, green chile, tostada, and nacho lovers. The key is in the modifications and substitutions – all of which are marked clearly on our vegan menu.

People often ask if our rice and beans are safe to eat and the answer is, “yes!” There is absolutely no butter, cheese, chicken stock, or lard used in the preparation of these staple items. Perhaps the best news of all, our famous Rio margaritas are the most vegan friendly item of all!

The Rio takes great pride in offering vegan Mexican food favorites. While we do prepare our vegan menu in the same kitchen space as our full menu, there is very low risk of cross contamination.

If you have questions about vegan Mexican options at the Rio, feel free to ask your server or the General Manager during your next visit.
