Have you ever wanted to enjoy a specialty Rio margarita from the comfort of your own home? Well, now you can!
Recently, our Food & Beverage Director, Erich Whisenhunt met with the Bartender Magazine team to showcase this delicious Rio margarita recipe in their signature cocktail edition!
Ingredients:
- 6 oz. ice
- 2 oz. tequila, Maestro Dobel Diamante tequila is preferred/recommended
- 1 oz. orange liqueur
- 2 oz. fresh blood orange citrus mix
- Juice from half a lime
Blood orange citrus mix recipe:
- 8 oz. lime juice
- 8 oz. blood orange juice
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- Warm water
- Pour sugar in a two-cup measuring cup
- Add warm water until the volume reaches two cups
- Shake & stir until the sugar has dissolved
- Using a citrus squeezer, juice oranges and limes
- Strain & measure for 8 0z. of each after straining
- Add orange & lime juice to sugar water & mix thoroughly
Rio Blood Orange Margarita Instructions:
- Fill a shaker with ice
- Jigger all ingredients listed above into shaker & shake by hand
- Pour into highball glass
- Squeeze lime into cocktail & garnish with a blood orange wheel
- ENJOY!
